Kelsey's
Christmas for Kids
Kelsey Ownby Smith
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
The Full Story
Kelsey's Christmas for Kids was started from a senior project in 2016. Kelsey wanted to make care packages for the homeless for Christmas when she noticed a bunch of young children playing outside the homeless shelter. She instantly decided that she wanted to take action. She took her savings and the money her parents were going to spend on her for Christmas and bought gifts for all the children. This started Santa for shelters. Kelsey continued to do this each year until 2021, when she was tragically killed in a transfer truck accident while carrying her beautiful daughter Gracelynn. Her family decided that she would live on through their hearts and this organization and carry out her dream of giving to the less fortunate. They also hope that her son, whom she left behind, will continue to carry on this tradition is his mother's memory.

Kelsey and Her Son, Sterling
Kelsey was 21 years old when she passed away.
Kelsey was a free spirit and extremely outgoing. She never met a stranger, was so funny and constantly making jokes. She had a huge heart, and she would give anything she had for others. She was a tomboy but was so beautiful even when she didn't realize. She was a selfie lover and really enjoyed being outdoors.
She leaves behind a loving mother and father, a son who is exactly like her, two sisters, and two brothers. All of them miss her endlessly and can't wait to be reunited with her in Heaven.
